Terms of use, subscriptions and Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026 · Version 2.1

This page sets out the terms on which you use the plantprotect.gr website and its subscription services, and how we process your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Greek law. By using the website you accept these terms.

How this page is organised

Part A, the terms that apply to every visitor. Part B, the terms that apply in addition to anyone who takes out a paid subscription. Part C, the Privacy Policy. Part D, complaints, dispute resolution and final provisions. If you do not have a subscription, Part B does not concern you.

Governing language and jurisdiction

This English text is provided for convenience. The service is operated from Greece and the Greek version of this page is the binding one in the event of any discrepancy. The approvals of plant protection products and fertilisers referred to throughout are those of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food, and are valid in Greece only.

Professional userAny person entering into the contract for purposes within their professional activity, such as a grower, an agronomist, an agricultural supply store or a business
Why the distinction matters

The service is addressed primarily to professionals. However, if you enter into the contract as a consumer, all mandatory provisions of consumer protection law apply in your favour, in particular the right of withdrawal in section 20 and the conformity rights in section 22. No term on this page limits those rights; wherever a term might appear to limit them, the law prevails.

3. Scope and acceptance of the terms

The plantprotect.gr website operates as a technical information resource on fruit growing, crop protection and plant nutrition, and at the same time provides subscription databases and tools for agricultural professionals.

Browsing, reading the content and using the tools and forms imply unreserved acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree with any term, please do not use the website.

The language of the contract is Greek. The text of the terms remains permanently available on this page and you can save it or print it.

4. Intellectual property and database rights

All content, meaning texts, articles, tables, calculation and diagnostic tools, photographs, videos, graphics, the logo and the structure of the pages, is the intellectual property of Savvas Pastopoulos Geoponiki L.P. and of Savvas Pastopoulos and is protected by Greek Law 2121/1993, as in force, and by the international conventions.

The sui generis database right

The databases on the website are not a copy of a public file. They are the product of substantial investment in collecting, verifying, structuring, cross linking and presenting the data, and as such they are protected in their own right by the sui generis right of the maker of a database (article 45A of Law 2121/1993, Directive 96/9/EC).

Without prior written permission it is prohibited to extract or re-utilise a substantial part of their content, and equally to carry out repeated and systematic extraction of insubstantial parts amounting to the extraction of a substantial part.

What is permitted

  • Reading, saving and printing for personal or internal professional use.
  • Citing and sharing a link to our articles.
  • Short quotation of an extract, provided it is accompanied by a clear reference to the source and an active link to the original article.
  • Use of the results of a search within your own agronomic work, for a specific orchard or client.

What is not permitted without prior written permission

  • Republication or copying of articles, in whole or in part, on another website, social medium, printed publication or application.
  • Translation, adaptation or modification of the content.
  • Commercial exploitation in any form, including incorporation into services, applications or training material that are sold.
  • Reproduction of a substantial part of the databases, creation of a derivative database and making it available to third parties, whether or not for consideration.
  • Use of the photographs and videos, most of which are original shots taken in the orchards of the region.
  • Automated harvesting of the content by software, and its use for training artificial intelligence systems. This reservation is expressly made, including within the meaning of article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 on text and data mining.

For republication permission please write to spagric@yahoo.gr. Such permissions are granted in writing and case by case, and are rarely refused where attribution is correct.

Where the content includes extracts, tables or data from third party sources, these are expressly listed in the source list of each article and the rights in them belong to the respective holders.

5. The nature of the content and its limits

The most important point on this page

The content of the website and of the databases is general technical information and not individualised agronomic advice. Every orchard differs in cultivar, rootstock, soil, water, microclimate and the nutritional status of the trees. Before any intervention, on site assessment by a licensed agronomist is required.

  • The rates, thresholds and calculations given in the articles are indicative, are drawn from the international literature and relate to the conditions of the respective experiments.
  • The calculation and diagnostic tools are orientation tools. Identification from symptoms is probabilistic, not certain, and does not replace laboratory, soil or leaf analysis. For quarantine organisms, diagnosis is made solely by the competent official authority, to which every suspicion must be notified.
  • Approvals of active substances, rates and pre harvest intervals change and differ by country and by crop. An article that was accurate when published may have been superseded.
  • Agricultural production is affected by factors outside anyone's control, such as the weather. No information on the website guarantees any particular production outcome.
Use of artificial intelligence tools

In writing, translating, checking and maintaining the content of the website, and in developing the tools and processing the public databases, artificial intelligence tools are used.

  • No text is published without human review. Every article, table and tool is checked and approved by an agronomist before it goes up.
  • The figures, rates and thresholds are cross checked against the sources listed at the end of each article. Where a claim is not documented, this is stated expressly in the text.
  • The data in the databases are not generated by artificial intelligence: they are drawn verbatim from the official files of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food and of the competent European authorities.
  • The photographs and videos are genuine field shots, unless the caption states otherwise.

The use of these tools does not shift responsibility: Savvas Pastopoulos Geoponiki L.P. alone is responsible for the content of the website.

6. Plant protection products and fertilisers

Every reference to a plant protection product or a fertiliser is made for information purposes. Their use is governed exclusively by:

  • the approvals of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food for the specific crop and the specific pest or disease, which are valid in Greece only;
  • the instructions on the product label, which prevail over any other information, including the data on this website;
  • the prescribed pre harvest intervals and personal protection measures.
Warning for every spray applied to trees carrying fruit

Spraying trees that carry fruit can cause marking on the fruit and scorching of the foliage. A prior trial on a limited number of trees is required, with the same product and the same rate, followed by a wait of 5 to 7 days before general application. Spraying is carried out in the late afternoon or early in the morning, never in a heatwave, never on foliage under water stress.

The final responsibility for the application rests solely with the user, who must read the label and, where required, hold the relevant certification for the sustainable use of pesticides.

7. The databases: what they include and what they do not

The databases on the website are built from official public registers and from published product catalogues of the companies. So that it is clear exactly what a subscriber buys and sees:

DatabaseSourceUpdate
Plant protection products and biocidesThe official register of approved plant protection products of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and FoodOn each new release of the register
FertilisersThe Register of Marketing Authorisations for New Type Fertilisers of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food, supplemented by the published product catalogues of the companiesOn each new release of the register and whenever the catalogues are re-read

What is not included

  • Emergency authorisations of limited duration, for example the 120 day permits for an emergency situation, which are issued and expire within the growing season.
  • Products whose approval has been withdrawn or has expired and whose grace period for disposal and use of stocks has passed.
  • CE marked fertilisers placed on the market under Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 without a national authorisation, which by definition are not in the national register. Where they exist, they appear only through the company catalogues.
The limits of accuracy, please read before subscribing
  • The data reproduce the content of the official register. Any errors, omissions or ambiguities in the register itself, or in the data declared by the holders of the approvals, are inevitably carried over to us as well, and cannot give rise to liability on our part.
  • Time passes between two updates. An approval may have been withdrawn, amended or granted after the last update. The date of the last update is shown inside the application.
  • The product label always prevails. In any case of divergence between the database and the label or the approval decision, the label and the decision apply.
  • The database is not a prescription for use and does not replace the pesticide prescription where the law requires one.

8. User account

An account is created with an email address and a password, or through a Google account. For the free content an account is optional. For the subscription service it is necessary.

  • The details you give must be accurate and up to date. For invoicing, the tax details must be the real ones.
  • Your password is personal and confidential. You are responsible for keeping it safe and for every action taken from your account.
  • If you detect unauthorised access, notify us immediately and change the password. From your profile you can see the connected devices and end the sessions.
  • The account is personal and non transferable.
One subscription, one user

The subscription is provided as a licence to use for one user, meaning one natural person, or one business for one of its employees. Sharing the credentials with third parties, simultaneous use by several persons and reselling access are prohibited. For use by more than one person in the same office or store, separate subscriptions are available, so please contact us. An unusual usage pattern suggesting shared credentials may lead to suspension under section 24.

9. Permitted and prohibited use

When using the website the following are prohibited:

  • Access by automated means, meaning robots, crawlers or bulk harvesting scripts, other than search engines that respect the robots.txt file.
  • Bulk or systematic copying of data, and any action aimed at reconstructing part of the databases outside the website.
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent the access control, authentication or billing mechanisms.
  • Overloading or obstructing the normal operation of the server, and any action that endangers the security or the availability of the service for other users.
  • Submitting false details, impersonation, and creating multiple accounts in order to circumvent these terms.
  • Using the website for an unlawful purpose or in a manner that infringes the rights of third parties.

We reserve the right to impose technical limits on the rate of requests and to block addresses from which automated or abusive use originates, with such measures always being proportionate to that purpose.

10. Availability and operation of the service

Every reasonable effort is made to keep the website and the databases available continuously. Nevertheless:

  • No guarantee of uninterrupted operation is given, nor any specific availability percentage.
  • Maintenance interruptions may be required. Scheduled interruptions are placed in low usage hours where possible and, when they are expected to last significantly, they are announced in advance.
  • Updating the databases depends on the publication of the official registers by the competent authorities. Delay or suspension of publication on their part does not constitute defective performance on ours.
  • Access presupposes your own internet connection and a device with a modern browser. The cost of the connection is yours.

The above do not affect the conformity rights in section 22 when the service does not work as it should.

11. Material you send us

When you send us photographs, videos, analyses or descriptions, whether through a form, by email or otherwise, the following apply:

  • The material remains yours. We acquire no ownership of it.
  • You grant us a limited licence to use it solely to examine your request and to provide the service you asked for.
  • Publication of your photographs in an article on the website takes place only with your express, separate and optional consent, which you may withdraw at any time. In that case publication is without a name and without a location, unless you ask otherwise.
  • You declare that you hold the rights in the material you send and that sending it does not infringe the rights of third parties, in particular where persons or other people's property are depicted.
  • We reserve the right not to use material, without any obligation to give reasons.

12. Links to third party websites

The website contains links to third party websites, such as scientific journals, public authorities and news media. The links are provided for your convenience and to document the articles. We do not control the content, the privacy policies or the availability of those websites and bear no responsibility for them.

13. Limitation of liability

Savvas Pastopoulos Geoponiki L.P. is liable for wilful misconduct and gross negligence. Beyond that, and to the extent the law permits:

  • We bear no liability for damage, loss of production or financial loss arising from applying information on the website without individualised technical guidance and without complying with the product label.
  • We bear no liability for indirect or consequential damage, loss of profit or loss of data.
  • For the subscription service, our total liability towards a professional user is limited to the amount paid by the subscriber during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the damage.
What is never limited

No clause in this section limits liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, nor the mandatory rights of a consumer, in particular those in sections 20 and 22. Terms that excessively limit liability towards a consumer are unfair under Greek Law 2251/1994 and do not apply.

14. Force majeure

We are not liable for non performance or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control: natural disasters, fire, flood, war, cyber attack, extended power or telecommunications outage, failure at the hosting provider, strike, pandemic, and acts or omissions of a public authority. If the event lasts more than thirty days and the service remains unavailable, the subscriber may terminate the contract and receive a pro rata refund for the period not provided.

15. The subscription: what it includes and who enters into it

Beyond the freely accessible content, the website offers a subscription service. The subscription is a digital service within the meaning of Greek Law 4967/2022 and an electronically supplied service for VAT purposes. Nothing physical is shipped.

The subscription includes access to:

  • the database of plant protection products and biocides approved in Greece, searchable by crop, pest or disease, active substance and company;
  • the fertiliser database, with the national register and the product catalogues of the companies;
  • the diagnostic and calculation tools in their full form;
  • those parts of the website marked as requiring a subscription.

The exact composition of each package, its term and its price are described on the subscriptions page, which forms an integral part of these terms. In case of divergence between the subscriptions page and this page as to the content or the price of a package, the subscriptions page prevails as it stood at the moment of the order.

A subscriber may be any natural person over eighteen years of age with full legal capacity, and any legal person through an authorised representative.

16. Formation of the subscription contract

The order is completed through the following steps:

  1. Choosing a package from the subscriptions page.
  2. Creating an account or signing in to an existing one.
  3. Entering the billing and invoicing details.
  4. A summary screen showing the main characteristics of the service, the total price including VAT, the term, how renewal works and how to cancel. Up to this point you can correct any detail or abandon the process with no consequence whatsoever.
  5. Express acceptance of these terms and submission of the order through a button labelled "Order with an obligation to pay".
  6. Payment.

The contract is concluded on successful completion of the payment. Immediately afterwards you receive at your address a confirmation on a durable medium, which includes the package, the price, the term, the renewal date, these terms and the model withdrawal form.

The content of the contract is archived by us and is available at any time from your profile.

17. Prices, VAT and invoicing

  • The prices shown on the subscriptions page are in euro and, where they are addressed to private individuals, include VAT. The VAT rate and amount are shown separately on the summary screen and on the invoice.
  • For a customer established in Greece, Greek VAT applies.
  • For a taxable business in another member state with a valid VAT number in the VIES system, the reverse charge applies. The customer must declare a valid number and is responsible for its accuracy.
  • For a private individual in another member state, the VAT of their country of residence applies, under the rules for electronically supplied services.
  • For every subscription a lawful tax document is issued, an invoice for services or a receipt, which is sent electronically and is available from your profile. To have an invoice issued you must declare the company name, VAT number, tax office, activity and registered office before payment; a document already issued as a receipt cannot be converted into an invoice afterwards.

18. Payment

Payments are handled by a licensed payment service provider, in the provider's own secure environment.

We never see your card details

The card number, the expiry date and the security code never pass through our server and are not stored by us. They are entered directly with the payment provider, which is certified to the PCI-DSS standard. We receive only the confirmation of the transaction, the last four digits and the card type.

  • The transaction is subject to strong customer authentication by your bank, where this is required.
  • On a failed charge at renewal, repeated attempts are made over a limited period and you are notified by message. If payment is not completed, access is suspended at the end of the paid period. Your account and your data are retained and access is restored as soon as the amount due is paid.
  • Any currency conversion or cross border transaction fees charged by your bank are yours to bear.

19. Term and automatic renewal

The subscription renews automatically, and that is said here plainly

Unless the package page expressly states otherwise, the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, for an equal term, charging the stored payment method at the price then in force. You can cancel at any time, with two clicks from your profile, without giving reasons, without a phone call and with no cancellation charge of any kind.

  • The subscription begins immediately upon confirmation of payment and lasts for the term of the package you chose.
  • Before each automatic renewal a reminder is sent to your address, with the date and the amount of the next charge. For subscriptions of six months or more the reminder is sent at least thirty days in advance; for shorter ones, at least seven days in advance.
  • Cancellation takes effect for the next period. The current, already paid period runs its full course and you keep full access until it ends.

20. The 14 day right of withdrawal

This section concerns those who enter into the contract as consumers, within the meaning of section 2. It is provided in accordance with articles 3i to 3ib of Greek Law 2251/1994.

The right

You have the right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen (14) calendar days from the day it was concluded, without giving any reason and at no cost.

How it is exercised

By a clear statement to us, meaning an email to spagric@yahoo.gr, a letter to our registered office, or the withdrawal button in your profile. You may use the model form below, although you are not obliged to. It is enough that the statement is sent before the deadline expires.

Refund

We refund the full amount you paid, without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen (14) days from the day we received your statement, using the same means of payment you used, at no cost to you.

When the right is lost, please read before pressing "Order"

Because the subscription is digital content delivered immediately, the right of withdrawal is lost only if all three of the following are met cumulatively, as article 3ib(m) of Law 2251/1994 provides:

  1. Performance has begun, meaning access has been given to you.
  2. You have given prior express consent for performance to begin within the 14 day period.
  3. You have expressly acknowledged that by doing so you lose the right of withdrawal.

For that reason, at checkout a separate box, not pre-ticked, appears, through which you declare these two things. It is your choice. If you do not tick it, access is activated after the fourteen days have passed and you keep the right of withdrawal in full throughout that period. You also receive written confirmation of your choice together with the order confirmation.

Model withdrawal form

To: SAVVAS PASTOPOULOS GEOPONIKI L.P., Vas. Konstantinou and Katsarea, Neos Mylotopos, Pella, Greece, spagric@yahoo.gr

I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the supply of the plantprotect.gr subscription service.

Ordered on: ……………
Name of consumer: ……………
Address of consumer: ……………
Email address or order number: ……………
Date: ……………
Signature (only if this form is sent on paper): ……………

21. Cancelling the subscription yourself

Beyond the right of withdrawal, you can stop the renewal at any time:

  • From your profile, using the cancel subscription function. The process is as simple as signing up.
  • By message to spagric@yahoo.gr, which is confirmed in writing.

Cancellation does not entail a refund for the current, already paid period; you keep access until it ends. This does not affect the right of withdrawal in section 20, the conformity rights in section 22, or the pro rata refund provided for in sections 14, 23 and 24.

Deleting the account while a subscription is running means losing access for the remainder of the period, with no refund. This is pointed out to you before the deletion is finalised.

22. Conformity of the service and your rights if something does not work

The subscription is a digital service and is subject to Greek Law 4967/2022, which transposed Directive (EU) 2019/770 into Greek law.

The service must correspond to its description, be fit for the purpose for which it is ordinarily used, and be supplied together with the updates necessary to keep it in conformity throughout the subscription.

If the service is not supplied or is not in conformity, you have, as a consumer, the following rights in order:

  1. Bringing the service into conformity, free of charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.
  2. If that is impossible, disproportionate or not done in time: a proportionate reduction of the price or termination of the contract, with a refund of the amount corresponding to the period during which the service was not in conformity.

For professional users, the general provisions of the Greek Civil Code on defective performance apply.

Notices of non conformity are submitted to spagric@yahoo.gr. We reply within fourteen days and set out the remedial measures.

23. Changes to the service and to the price

Changes to the service

The service evolves: data, tools and features are added. Such improvements are made freely and at no extra charge within the current subscription.

If, on the other hand, a change is needed that negatively and materially affects your access to or use of the service, we will inform you at least thirty days in advance, on a durable medium, and you will have the right to terminate the contract free of charge within thirty days, with a pro rata refund of the amount corresponding to the remainder of the period. This right is provided for by Law 4967/2022.

Changes to the price

  • The price you paid applies for the whole period you paid for. No retroactive charge is ever made.
  • A change in price applies only to the next period and is announced to your address at least thirty days before renewal.
  • If you do not agree, you stop the renewal before the charge date. Your silence after the notice is not treated as acceptance if you did not have a real opportunity to cancel.
  • A change in the VAT rate imposed by law is passed on as it stands and does not constitute a price increase.

24. Suspension and termination by us

We may suspend or terminate the subscription and the account in the event of:

  • breach of sections 8 or 9, in particular sharing credentials, automated harvesting, reselling access or circumventing the controls;
  • non payment of an amount due;
  • use of the website for an unlawful purpose.

Except in cases requiring immediate action for security reasons, written notice comes first, describing the breach and giving a reasonable period to comply. You have the right to put your case before any final termination.

On termination for which you are at fault, no refund is due. On suspension or termination through no fault of yours, the amount corresponding to the period not supplied is refunded pro rata.

25. Subscriptions bought through Google Play or the App Store

If you take out the subscription from inside a mobile application, using the app store's billing mechanism, the following apply in addition:

  • Payment and invoicing are handled by the app store, not by us. We do not issue a tax document for such a purchase; the store issues it.
  • Stopping the renewal and refund requests are handled from within the store's settings and are governed by its own terms. We have no technical means of cancelling or refunding such a subscription.
  • All the other terms on this page, meaning content, use, privacy and conformity, apply in full.

If you want an invoice for your business expenses, the subscription must be bought from the website.

26. Privacy Policy, processing of personal data

This information is provided in accordance with article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Greek Law 4624/2019.

What we keep as proof of your consent

Each time you accept the terms, declare your choice about immediate start of the subscription, or change your choice about updates, we record which version of the text you accepted, exactly when, and from which screen, together with the anonymous fingerprint of your connection. Old records are not erased: a withdrawal is recorded as a new entry alongside the previous one. That way we can prove, and you can check, exactly what was agreed and when. The whole history is included in the file you download from your profile.

Two things you do yourself, without writing to us
  • Download all your data in a single file: your profile, the history of your consents, the connected devices and the history of your subscriptions. No request is needed and there is no waiting.
  • Delete your account permanently. Deletion is immediate and real: the address, the name, the telephone, the profile, the Google connection and all the sessions are removed. All that remains is an anonymous record that a deletion took place, together with any tax documents the law requires to be kept.

Who receives your data

RecipientWhat it receives and why
Payment service providerThe details required for the charge: name, email address, amount, card details, which are entered directly with the provider and not with us. It acts as an independent controller for the operation of the payment system and the prevention of fraud, under its own privacy policy
Form service providerForm data is transmitted through an external service that forwards the content to our email. The provider is established outside the European Union, see the box below
Hosting and email providerThe website is hosted on a server of our hosting provider. Correspondence and account messages travel through our email provider
Google Ireland LimitedOnly if you choose to sign in with a Google account. Google confirms your identity to us and gives us your address and your name, as an independent controller. If you prefer not to, create an account with an address and a password, the result is the same
Google Ireland Limited, advertisingFor serving advertisements in the articles, through the Google AdSense service. It receives data about your device and your browsing on the website, as an independent controller, and only if you consent to the purposes declared in the consent message. We do not pass on any of your account details. Set out in detail in section 28
App storesOnly if you take out a subscription from inside a mobile application. In that case the store handles the payment on its own responsibility and tells us only that an active subscription exists
AccountantThe tax details, for issuing and recording the documents
Public authoritiesOnly where there is a legal obligation
Transfers outside the European Union

The service that handles the forms, the hosting platform and the payment provider may be established in, or process data in, the United States. Those transfers rely on the mechanisms of Chapter V GDPR, meaning the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the Commission's standard contractual clauses, with supplementary measures where required.

If you prefer to avoid the transfer for an advisory request, send it directly by email or by telephone, without using the form. The outcome for you is the same. For a subscription, using a payment provider is technically unavoidable; alternatively you can ask for invoicing and payment by bank transfer.

Security, confidentiality and breach incidents

The details of your holding and your photographs are not disclosed to third parties and are not used in publications without your consent. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are taken: encrypted connection, storage of passwords only as a cryptographic hash, access limited to the strictly necessary persons, regular backups.

In the event of a personal data breach likely to put your rights and freedoms at risk, we notify the Hellenic Data Protection Authority within 72 hours under article 33 GDPR and, where the risk is high, we notify you as well without undue delay under article 34.

Minors

The service is not addressed to minors and we do not knowingly collect children's data. Taking out a subscription presupposes adulthood. Where processing rests on consent for an information society service, that consent is lawful once the child has reached fifteen years of age, under article 21 of Greek Law 4624/2019; below that age the consent of the holder of parental responsibility is required. If we find that a child's details have been entered without the required consent, we delete them.

27. Your rights as a data subject

Under articles 15 to 22 GDPR you have the following rights:

AccessTo learn what data we hold about you and to receive a copy
RectificationTo have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed
ErasureTo have your data deleted, where no legal obligation to retain it exists
RestrictionTo have processing restricted in certain cases
PortabilityTo receive the data in a structured, commonly used format
ObjectionTo object to processing based on legitimate interest
Withdrawal of consentWhere processing rests on consent, to withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it

How to exercise them: by a simple message to spagric@yahoo.gr or by telephone on +30 2382 051504. Exercising these rights is free of charge. We reply without delay and at the latest within one month; the period may be extended by two months for complex requests, with notice to you within the first month.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you consider that the processing of your data infringes the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, 1-3 Kifisias Avenue, 115 23 Athens, Greece, tel. +30 210 6475600, www.dpa.gr.

28. Cookies

The website runs on our own server and uses as few cookies of its own as possible. Beyond those, third party advertising cookies are placed, and only if you consent. Under article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006, storing or accessing information on your device is permitted only after you have been informed and have consented. Cookies that are technically necessary for providing the service you requested are exempt.

The account and subscription cookies

These appear only if you create an account and they are all technically necessary: without them the service you asked for cannot work. They do not require consent and contain none of your details.

CookieWhat it does and how long it lasts
pp_sessKeeps you signed in. It contains a random token, none of your details. 90 days, or until you sign out
pp_csrfProtects the forms from being submitted on your behalf from another website. For the duration of the browsing session
pp_oauthAppears only when signing in with Google and ensures that the return from Google corresponds to your own attempt. 15 minutes

During the payment process, the payment provider may place its own technically necessary cookies for completing and securing the transaction, under its own policy.

Advertising

Since October 2026 the website displays advertisements through the Google AdSense service. They appear in the articles and on the content pages. They do not appear on the account, subscription and administration pages, nor in the fyto.plantprotect.gr and threpsi.plantprotect.gr applications, which remain entirely free of advertising.

To display them, Google Ireland Limited and its advertising partners may place cookies or read identifiers from your device, in order to measure impressions, limit repetition of the same advertisement and, if you consent, personalise their content. Google acts here as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy.

What happens if you refuse

The advertisements do not stop, but they become non personalised: they are chosen from the content of the page you are reading and not from your history. Refusing does not limit in any way your access to the articles and the tools.

We do not link advertising data to your account and we do not pass on to Google your name, your email address or any other detail from your profile.

An advertisement is not a recommendation

The appearance of an advertisement is not a recommendation, an endorsement or an assessment of the product or service advertised, nor is it connected with the content of the article in which it appears. Everything stated in section 6 about plant protection products and fertilisers applies in full: the choice of product is made on the basis of the approvals of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food, which are valid in Greece only, and of on site assessment by a licensed agronomist.

How we ask for your consent

On your first visit the Google consent message appears. It is a certified consent management platform, integrated with the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework, and using one is mandatory for every website that displays Google advertising in the European Economic Area.

The message offers acceptance and refusal with equal ease, as the GDPR requires, together with detailed settings per purpose. From the same settings you can see the full list of advertising partners requesting access and decide separately for each one.

Advertising cookies are off by default and are not placed before you answer. The technically necessary account cookies described above are not affected by your choice. Your answer is kept by Google and applies to this website.

Changing or withdrawing: at any time, through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, which reopens the same message. Withdrawal is as easy as giving consent, as the GDPR requires. You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings; blocking the technically necessary ones means you will not be able to sign in.

29. Complaints and out of court dispute resolution

To us first, it is the fastest route

Any complaint, refund request or notice of non conformity is submitted to spagric@yahoo.gr or by telephone on +30 2382 051504. We reply within fourteen days, in writing, with a reasoned position.

If it is not resolved

As a consumer you can turn to an Alternative Dispute Resolution body:

Greek Consumer OmbudsmanIndependent authority. 144 Alexandras Avenue, 114 71 Athens, Greece, tel. +30 210 6460862, grammateia@synigoroskatanaloti.gr, www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr. The procedure is free of charge and presupposes that you have come to us first
You can also turn to a certified ADR body from the register of the Greek General Secretariat of Commerce, or to the Consumer Line 1520
The European ODR platform has been discontinued

The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/odr) ceased to operate on 20 July 2025, after Regulation (EU) 524/2013 was repealed by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228. For that reason no link to it is given here. Its mention in the terms of use of other websites is now incorrect.

Recourse to an ADR body is optional and does not deprive you of the right to go to court.

30. Amendments, governing law and final provisions

Amendments to the terms

These terms may be amended, in particular because of changes in the law or in the services provided. The version in force is always the one posted on this page, with the date and version number at the top.

  • For visitors, continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
  • For subscribers, a material amendment is notified at least thirty days before it takes effect, on a durable medium. If you do not accept it, you can cancel the subscription before it takes effect; the current period is governed by the terms in force when it was entered into.
  • No amendment applies retroactively and none reduces rights you have already acquired.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Greek law. For disputes with professional users, the courts of our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction.

For consumers

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country of your habitual residence and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, under Regulation (EU) 1215/2012 and Regulation (EC) 593/2008. The preceding term on exclusive jurisdiction does not apply against you.

Other provisions

  • Severability. If a term is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in force and the invalid one is replaced by the arrangement closest to its purpose, within the limits of the law.
  • No waiver. Not exercising a right does not constitute a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign the contract or your account to a third party without our written consent. If our business is transferred, subscriptions are transferred on the same terms and you are informed in advance; if you do not wish this, you may terminate with a pro rata refund.
  • Entire agreement. This page, together with the subscriptions page and the confirmation of your order, constitutes the whole of our agreement.
